I have an Iphone 7 and i feel like its the best smartphone for the “size” but not for the “display size”.
I feel like a 4.7 inch is too small when someone like me use the phone with larger text. Not that im blind, but a 110/115% zoom on all the UI is perfect.
So i might think that a 5 Inch is the perfect option…
But do your research and fit whats most good!
If you can send me some free cheap mockups i will be glad to help!!

How much it would be weight and thickness?

Would you do a notification led?
Also when calling, would be amazing to reply and start the call on the eink side. Will you make a earspeaker also over there?

    Thats huge Pierre. Nice!
If this will increase the thickness consider instead Super Vooc 2. It will charge the phone from 0 to 100 in 15/20 minutes. That would be also smaller battery = less weight

Be aware that when you do touch e ink, for some reason the contrast will be lower.
Just check with manufactures if plasitc will be better over glass.
You should use the same materials weve seen on the Kindle Oasis for the screen or on the Kobo h20 or thr remarkable 2.
Theb we can add an additional screen protector to it

Considering the fact for a “Pro” version, the color e ink feature would be smashing! The 50/100€ most worth investiment ever for the user thats interested in.

Having a fully functional fast color e ink, no power consumption, read any activity under sunlight finally without have to squint the eyes or search for a shadow spot hided by the sun, but in completely sunlight, no more eye strain and head pain/nausea, projected into the future, paper feeling… An user will use it more than the LCD Display definetly.
Then the LCD will be used 10% of the time, to Watch YouTube videos while at the bathroom, to upload the amazing photos took from the amazing cam.
E-ink is the future for “everyday mixed usage”. E-ink is the Harry Potter paper we all realized than now that dream come true! Its on our pocket… At our disposal..

    Understand perfectly.

Btw i saw that color eink is not as expensive and thick as you think. Is about the same thickness of a normal eink + it cost 20% more. A good choice

    Hi Pierre!
    Well for some reasons
    – I would like a color E-Ink just because it makes Easy to see links, clickable text, buttons and colors for fast recognize in general.
I dont think color e ink have a big thickness to it. It could be less than 1mm.
    – Hisense have no google play, so I am more interested in your Project that will run stock android and with some modding anyone could customize the phone as their wishes.
    – Hisense have a really poor dual screen technology. Bugs, crashes and recognizing problems. I hope that its all software related so We can have a perfect dual screen phone with the “OneDevice”.
    – Big. Is too big right? 🙂
    – Anime episodes. I watch 1 anime episode at night and i dont want my wrist to get broken by the weight of the phone ahha
    – Hisense A6l has amoled display, which has PWM, which cause eyestrain/headhace. It will burn your eyes 20x than a flicker free lcd display Phone.

Regarding the OneDevice, if you plan to do 2 version, one “cheap” and one “premium” (i suggest it), please provide the pro with color e-ink, flickerfree display, a 8xx or better snapdragon (if it fits), IP68 or SplashProof (if possible), SuperVooc 2.0. People will spend more if the pro can offer more :).
I,d love a 70 to 71 mm widht 16:9 display on the premium version (thats about 5.5 inches if im not wrong)

    Good Evening
The E-ink screen would be the first thing that would make buyers to pay for the product, but not as an e reader… As a phone.

We are in 2020 and we have yet color e-ink avaiable.
You can see the Hisense Color Eink yet avaiable and investigate.
Better to have a color than a b/w eink screen. You can always disable saturation on a color display, but never get color on a b/w display.

Dasung, Hisense, Onyx and other manufactures have implemented a faster algorythm to make the eink smoother and actually very useful for all normal stuff except for multimedia (video/photography).
I use an Hisense A5 everyday and I want to tell you that if I could have a normal Lcd display on the other side, that would make my best device ever.
So please take in serious consideration features that will make the phone more interesting to people and niches:

-Color E-Ink (300ppi or more “carta” display
-Algorithm based on “ClearMode” and “SmoothMode”
-Switch from E-ink to Lcd and viceversa should be instant and with 0 bugs

I can tell more on the e ink implementation but i will may boring you ahah

Renders are awesome. I’d like to suggest to remove headphones jack, instead put a infrared sensor.
We have usb c, no need for jack.

How much are the bezels of the chassis thick? Why did we have the thick bezel on the bottom?
Iphone X is a good example to take in mind from 4mm to 5mm (width)
The fingerprint sensor, if you mount on the side, would it be ok to make it large. More surface its better for unlocking purpose. A passive ultrasonic fingerprint would be awesome.

Please take in consideration that 4.7 screen is really too much small. From 5 to 5.15 its a better range. (Width move from 59 to 64. 5mm more is huge advantage in the usage and multimedia.)

The camera popup mechanics could be “copied” by yet sold phones models.
Regarding the design its pretty good. Be aware that an user need to rest his finger on the side of the phone, so dont make the bezels too much thin. The Iphone X has a perfect engineered design, you should use that as example and make the border consistant from the bottom to the side to the top.
I advice to make the bottom border without any “gross”. Like you can see on the Iphone x it has bottom and edges perfectly the same. Thats perfect. If you make the border on the bottom side, make it also on the top side, and if it fits a camera why not enlarge it by 1mm and give face id unlock? Do not make it to minimalist. If a camera/speaker/sensor could fit for just 2mm space, Its better to fit it 🙂

Anyway the most beautiful phone i had was a nexus 5. Perfect size phone. Despite it being non bezelles.

I think that we can achieve the same plastic pros, just with a screenprotector.
Making the screen glass it would be better IMHO

You should make the back screen of the same material of the front, then you should apply a good quality film on it that the user could remove within years if it will be scratched and replace with a new one (maybe add one in the box).

    It should be
    – AntiFingerprint
    – AntiReflection/Glares (Most important thing)
    – Paper feeling
    – Very thin
    – No color changes (Like blueyish or rainbow colors)
    – NotGrainy
