Hi Emiliano ! Glad to welcome you 🙂
Yes I share your point of view. They kind of all look the same.Hi DPOINTCLOUX80 ! About accessories we will probably make a case and provide earphones and charger. Then there is already Keydock which is ready, and later there will be a lapdock. I’m thinking maybe other kind of docking stations like a tablet or game console. The idea would be to be able to use OneDevice on lot of different docks depending on your use.
Yes I’d like to have an open source software. Though I don’t know to what extent it will be possible.
Yes but I could not establish discussion with Clearink yet.
Hope they’ll feedback laterMay 4, 2020 at 6:02 am in reply to: Project update 1 : Design Poll 1 : Camera pop-up and eink display #1145You are talking about the LCD backlight LEDs? Or for the flashlight LED?
Eink doesn’t have backlight. It can have front light though. But using optic fibers seems very difficult to do to take advantage of LCD backlight for Eink front light. It would probably be more expensive than the LED for eink front light. Also I think the front light LED are much different than the LCD backlight’s.For the fingerprint sensor it will depend on the ODM we work with. It may indeed not be an essential feature, but it may not be so difficult to incorporate.
Exactly, it’s called a push push mechanism. Click once and it goes out, click again and it stays inside.
May 4, 2020 at 5:51 am in reply to: Pitié pas de trou dans l'écran et un cache pour la caméra frontale #1141@Androidriver81 Yes it’s a possibility to have only the rear camera and use the Eink screen for selfies. But the Eink screen is not perfect to get a clear idea of the picture you are going to get.
@DPOINTCLOUD He meant that the phone could have only rear camera. No selfy camera. So for normal camera it would be as usual.

I don’t think we will be able to use Google One because we will need some firmware modifications for the Eink screen. But we can still stick very close to the basic version of Android beside the eink interface.
Lineage OS is a good idea that we have been thinking about. But european are mostly google users so having to install google service might be a no-go for lot of people. Though what we could do is incorporate nice features from Lineage. This needs some more thoughts.A priori on fera les certifications google pour pré-installer les services google.
En effet ne pas les avoir en Europe représente un gros point noir.Oui c’est un avantage de la caméra rotative en effet.
Yes we will probably use a those trays with 2 sim and one SD.
For wireless it seems not all agree.
My long term goal is to promote the use of desktop mode to replace computers. While doing so you have to be connected. Which would mean that the phone is pretty much always charged up. So wireless would not really be usefull in that use-case.
🙂@Jacopo @Paologaffu thanks for your support 🙂
April 28, 2020 at 9:24 am in reply to: Project update 3 : New renders and website being prepared. #1099Hey guys,
@mee’s design are not final. I have done them in order to be as close as possible to what is actually possible.
You help is definitly welcome if you want to give a hand for the wordpress and 3D! You can reach out by email at hello@oreason.io to discuss about that.@Paologaffu74 It’s hard to say. To make the hardware development and first production, it needs about 6-9 months. Though the big issue right now is that before starting that we first need a strong enough community to either launch on Kickstarter and fund the whole thing, or find investors to fund the project.
So the most important is to bring more people in! Beside sharing the project to friends and family, the best way is to try to reach for journalist and ask them to write article about OneDevice. Everytime we have an article the community grows a lot.- This reply was modified 4 years, 7 months ago by Pierre.
