June 4, 2020 at 9:39 pm #1243Le pop-up des autres marques est donc mécanique ?
June 5, 2020 at 8:11 am #1248un proto? cool 🙂
June 5, 2020 at 7:55 pm #1254Salut,
En ayant cette idée de pop-up manuel (tel que le clic “bic”), il peut y avoir une sécurité de rétractation automatique en cas de chute, tel qu’en parle “Bonbon19”?June 23, 2020 at 11:59 am #1377Share the result of Prototype
June 23, 2020 at 2:17 pm #1378I’m a bit late to the party on this one, but in all honesty I’m not a huge fan of the popup camera idea. Regardless of how solidly such a mechanism is constructed, they are virtually impossible to seal against dust ingress, and for a device that is carried in a pocket, it’s eventually failure from this alone is all but assured. Even if it’s physically strong enough to avoid damage if incorrectly or roughly closed.
June 24, 2020 at 1:04 pm #1380That’s true, I fully appreciate this device is not intended to be IP rated in any way. However, there is a vast practicality difference between say an iPhone 3G (before they started glueing the digitizer to the LCD) where dust ingress just results in dust “inside” the screen, and a phone with actual moving/sliding elements that will grind dust into their mechanisms.
As soon as the flex cable from the cameras through the twisting/sliding joint to the mainboard is abrasively worn, its done, and will need to be replaced.
Should such a design be achieved that can actually eliminate this threat, I will accept it wholeheartedly. I have just seen too many manufactures try and fall short before…

Currently we are close to 3000 subscribers. Which is really great but not enough yet.
To launch OneDevice with round corners display as it is currently designed, it would require a substantial funding. Either being around 30 000 people and launch on Kickstarter. Either raising funds. But raising this much funds is difficult.
Another way that I’m currently considering, is to develop the smartphone using regular square corner LCD. This would mean that we will have a bezel on top of the display similar to the bottom one. Or that the phone itself will have square angles on top which may look strange.
On top of that using a SoC that I can get access to reference design (not a snapdragon). Then the minimum production quantity and development cost can drop such that project can happen in 6 months. But it will not look as dashing as current designs and be slightly bigger. Though this could be a first step, then raising funds would be much easier and we’ll be able to make a very high end smartphone then.June 26, 2020 at 10:19 pm #1391Salut,
